Deer River Schools
Our challenge was to build three modern learning facilities—during the school year.
To store the schools' water sprinkler system, we installed a below-ground cement vault. Strong enough to support far more than the water volume and the sprinkler equipment, the school district was also able to build a garage over it to utilize the space even more efficiently.
School is in session.
Three sites, three schools—and three construction sites to keep safe from curious kids. Complicating matters, we had to build not only during the winter, but during the school season. So finding ways to avoid disrupting the important education work of the students and teachers at each location was important. To accomplish this, we worked on the least intrusive aspects of the site, and waited for evenings, weekends, and off days to do the rest. And establishing a good rapport with the architect and owner helped us coordinate for the greatest safety and efficiency while reducing disruptions.
