Our clients looked to Nor-Son to build an upscale office center in a burgeoning area of northern Minnesota.
To meet this project’s strict deadline, we developed an innovative construction method of pre-fabricating exterior wall panels and installing them onsite during the bitterly cold winter months.

The Johnson Office Centre owners, a husband and wife team, wanted to create a first-class office building in an area of Minnesota of increasing interest to businesses. Based on previous experience with us, the owners knew that their vision together with Nor-Son’s expertise could bring it to life.

The unique office building offers well-appointed surroundings like a two-story, light-filled atrium that features a massive barrel-vaulted skylight, large windows that invite an abundance of natural light, wood paneling throughout the building, and carefully landscaped grounds dotted by granite pavers and planters. All of these details help upscale businesses feel at home in the Johnson Office Centre.
Nor-Son prevailed over a tight deadline and intense weather challenges.
The timeline and weather conditions were two of our biggest challenges when building the new office center. Schedule was a primary concern of ours during the build due to a lease commitment of a major tenant who had to move into the office on the exact date we were scheduled to finish. And it was difficult and time-consuming to apply the special weather-sensitive exterior finish during winter. Our solution to both problems was to pre-fabricate the exterior as wall panels that we then delivered and installed on-site.
