LEED-Certified Fairway Pines Cottages
A Grand View Golf Community
Fairway Pines is Minnesota’s first golf course community featuring Leadership in Energy and Environmental design-certified homes.
In designing Fairway Pines, quality craftsmanship of the homes, while maintaining the integrity of the natural surroundings, was extremely important to us. Working with Nor-Son, we developed these characteristics into a unique, environmentally friendly community with elements of timeless quality.

This unique cottage tastefully combines eco-luxury and maintenance-free living
Today’s luxury doesn’t necessarily mean large, expansive spaces. This cottage consists of 1,344 square feet of single-level living. Sustainable, luxurious finishes include exterior Hardy Plank siding and metal roof; and interior reclaimed beams, hand scraped wood flooring, ceramic tile baths, Crystal cabinets and granite countertops.
Nor-Son received the Silver certification level under the LEED for Homes Category
LEED certification provides third-party assurance to homebuyers that their home complies with rigorous technical requirements for energy and water efficiency, indoor air quality, non-toxic materials, and environmental performance. Some of the sustainable and green elements incorporated into the home included high efficiency fixtures, Energy Star appliances, enhanced insulation, a tight building envelope, sprinkler system with rain sensors and eco-friendly building materials.
Environmentally friendly neighborhood in the Brainerd Lakes Area
Fairway Pines is comprised of 20 homes sites offering three distinct cottage designs that have been carefully designed by Nor-Son, Inc., to blend into the Pines Golf Course. This unique community is perfect for snowbirds or investors who are looking to leave a smaller footprint with their lifestyle, yet enjoy the finest that Minnesota and Grand View Lodge resort living has to offer.
