Nor-Son Inc. Build well. Be well.

French Chateau

The build began before design was finalized, but our excellent communication and anticipation of the clients’ wishes kept the process worry-free.

Our creative craftsmanship was called on to create traditional architectural details with modern construction techniques. To construct the arched great room window wall, for instance, we used poured concrete to obtain both the desired shape and rock-solid durability.

Building with anticipation.

Our background in home design and architecture helped us in our role as general contractor on this project. Because construction began before the design was finalized, it was up to us to plan the build to accommodate different materials and finishes. It took a tremendous amount of onsite planning and layout to ensure proper fit and placement, listening attentively to the homeowners and architect to continue building with minimal hassle.

An old-world chateau meets North Woods style.

The timeless look of this estate is achieved with Wisconsin stone covering the entire exterior and main interior rooms. Reclaimed hand-hewn oak and poplar was sourced from Indiana and used in the structural truss systems in the great room and porte-cochere, lending a historic ambiance that complements the traditional architectural style. Black walnut hardwood floors and rustic timbers accentuate the antique décor.
