This Minnesota lakeshore home was built to enjoy the North Woods—so we went to extreme lengths to preserve them.
Trees around the site were so thoroughly protected that it took three hours for our supply truck to carefully back out of the quarter-mile trail.

"Norr Trän" is Swedish for "North Woods", and the perfect name for a home combining a touch of Sweden with the natural beauty of Minnesota’s North. Fir, oak, and hand-cut pine add a rustic, welcoming warmth to this beautiful lakeshore setting.
Green building meets 1800s tradition.
To protect the natural beauty around the construction site, we took extra care to wrap and treat the trees gently. We also worked hard to reduce our use of new wood with reclaimed fir and oak. Sourced from nineteenth-century barns from across the country, the reused wood gives this new home an authentic historic elegance.
