White Fish Lake Home
After moving 10 times in 11 years, this family wanted to put roots down in a home that recalled their past while looking to the future.
I remember swimming in the lake with my cousins, jumping off a raft, playing kick the can [...] Those are great memories. We do the same things now that were so important to me.

The owners had lived in a smaller home on the chain of White Fish lakes while he was a player in the NHL. As a child, she had spent summer days with her family on the lakes. Both wanted to recapture these memories, but in a home that would also be able to function full-time and be ready for their children as they grew up and needed more space.
A stronger log cabin.
Technically not a true log cabin, this home offers superior construction and durability. Instead of one-and-a-half-inch exterior logs, we used D-style pine siding, featuring logs six to eight inches thick. In addition to getting that "thick log" look, it provides much more stability and insulation.
A warm, natural lake view to welcome family.
The owners' favorite room is the inviting great room, which features a panoramic view of the lake. Graced by a beautiful stone fireplace and dressed in railing and corner boards of white cedar, the family just seems to gather there. In fact, their first Thanksgiving saw them host 26 family members comfortably in this room.
