With an Experience Modification Rate (EMR) of 0.72, Nor-Son continues to lead the industry with its safety performance. Our Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Platinum Award-winning status since 2002 reinforces this commitment to safety.

Under the guidance of a Safety Director and collaboration with site superintendents, Nor-Son consistently improves its safety program and practice in the workplace by offering and enforcing training modules for all field supervision, craftsmen and project management, including subcontractors. In addition, Nor-Son provides an active Safety Committee that meets to review and implement the latest standards and training opportunities.

It is Nor-Son's belief that all workplace incidents are avoidable and that any injury to its employees or subcontractors is unacceptable. Lastly, Nor-Son has a partnership with MNOSHA and ABC.

NOR-SON UTILIZES GREEN BUILDING AND SUSTAINABLE DESIGN TECHNIQUES

Nor-Son strives to ensure every structure it creates is worthy of the land it inhabits. In accordance with the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), Nor-Son architects, project managers and field personnel give the utmost care in taking a project from the conceptual to the physical to the sustainable. Nor-Son employs Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accredited professionals and is continually striving to acquire green knowledge, expertise and credentials.

From eliminating tree loss during construction to reducing storm water runoff, Nor-Son team members strive to achieve both ecological and visual harmony between our clients' structures and their surrounding natural and built environment. Nor–Son environments are intelligently designed, materials are diligently sourced and structures are carefully constructed to maximize energy efficiency and minimize the life cycle cost of the client's building as well as the impact to the environment.

When creating a building, Nor-Son considers the complete building life cycle – siting, design, construction, operation, maintenance and removal. Nor-Son is committed to increasing the efficiency with which its clients' buildings use energy, water, and materials.
